The Climate Control compressor (better known as "York", its previous manufacturer), is very similar in appearance to the Blissfield HGB 1000. The most noticeable difference is the weight with the Climate Control weighing only a little over 1/2 as much as the Blissfield. This is due to the use of a cast aluminum block with iron cylinder inserts (the Blissfield is entirely cast iron). Other differences include the higher speed range of the Climate Control (6k rpms vs 3k for Blissfield) and availability of two different displacements. These can be important factors when selecting a compressor for use in a marine refrigeration system as both over-capacity and over-speed are common problems with many of these system designs. |
Oil
Climate Control compressors are delivered with a full charge of POE (polyol ester) oil which is suitable for use with all refrigerants. No flushing is required for R-12 (mineral oil) retrofit installations.
Valves
Climate Control compressor do not include valves - Valves MUST be purchased separately. RParts offers a complete selection of compatible screw-on rotolock type service valves.
