The BD80F compressor has a larger capacity than the BD50F or the smaller BD35F. The BD80F uses an electronically commutated permanent magnet brushless DC motor.  The advantages of this approach are small size and variable-capacity.  As with its predecessors, the BD80F does require the use of an electronic power module.  Like all electronics, the power module is extremely reliable as long as it is properly installed and does not overheat.  (To prevent overheating use our Danfoss Power Module Cooling Fan Kit.) 

NOTE:  The BD80F compressor requires a Power Module to run.  The same power module is used for 12vdc or 24vdc systems.  The module must be purchased separately from the compressor.
